I’m Tom Stachowitz and this is my site.

On A Personal Note…

For some reason Krista, my girlfriend, doesn’t think that I’ll tell her that I love her in a post on this blog.  Of course, it’s possible - likely, even - that she knows that the best way to get me to do something is to tell me that I would never do it.  I’m a simple man (not really, but it sounds good) and, as such, am very susceptible to reverse psychology.

I love you Krista, and of I’ll say that here and anywhere, to anybody who’ll read this or who’ll listen to me.

Drawing a Blank

Even though there’s a hell of a lot going on in the world right now, I can’t think of anything to write about.  That’s not exactly true - I can think of things to talk about, but I can’t think of anything meaningful to say about them.

Congrats Chuck and Heather!

Yesterday was a special day for my good friends Chuck and Heather.  Their baby daughter, Amelia Ann McAuley, was born at 11:30 pm on July 23rd.  Congratulations guys!

Good Luck

As far as I know, today was George’s final day as a civilian.  Good luck, George.

Good Luck George

My good friend George over at Tales of the Board has to join the Greek army.  He leaves in a few days, so I just wanted to take a post to wish him well.

Here in the States military service is completely optional - only something like 7% of people even consider military service - so it’s easy to forget that in many parts of the world it is a requirement.  Good luck, George.  We’ll have a few beers and kick over some trash cans once you get out.

Today’s Short Post

Today I had to fill out a form.  Part of this form asked me to list my residences over the past decade.  An hour later I had fifteen periods of residency listed in twelve unique residences.

Over the past decade I have, on average, moved more then once per year.  I knew that I’ve moved around quite a bit but, honestly, until I saw it all laid out in front of me like that it really hadn’t hit home, wherever that is.

I Plan on Being Better Tomorrow

I’m still sick but I fully intend to be well by tomorrow.  If I’m not - well, then my body will just have to deal with it.

Still Sick Damn It

I’m still sick, damn it.

Feeling Crappy

I’m feeling very under the weather tonight, so this is all the post you’re going to get!

Thursday

I have decided that I want to become a connoisseur of Scotch.  Similarly, I have decided to take it altogether too seriously.

My feeling is that everyone needs to be a connoisseur of something and I like Scotch, so why not just go all in on this one?  It’s better then being a connoisseur of Skittles or peanut butter and jelly sandwiches - although both of those are fantastic as well.
